Johnny Manziel Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Stemming From 2012 Fight
Remember that whole mess that started last June, when Johnny Manziel got into a bar fight, got arrested, got suspended from the Aggies, got un-suspended, then won a Heisman? Whatever happened to the actual court case?
Manziel officially paid his debt to society this morning, pleading guilty to one misdemeanor count of failing to identify himself to a police officer. In exchange, charges of disorderly conduct and possessing a fake driver's license were dismissed. The damage? Manziel will pay a $2,000 fine, $232 in court costs, and was sentenced to two days in jail—counted as time served, since he was locked up after his arrest.
"He took responsibility for his actions that night and is ready to put what happened that night behind him," his attorney said.
It's a busy week for Johnny Football, who left the Mannings' football camp with "dehydration" the day after a night out on the town. Wednesday is SEC media day in Alabama, after which Manziel will fly to Los Angeles for that night's ESPY Awards.
