Jeff Van Gundy Advocates Zero-Tolerance Policy For Domestic Violence Offenders
Photo credit: Matt Slocum/ [object Object] The Houston Rockets and New York Knicks met in the preseason this evening, and ESPN announcer Jeff Van Gundy used the occasion of Derrick Rose’s first appearance with the Knicks to make some points about domestic violence and how Adam Silver and the NBA should deal with players who are convicted of offenses. Here is a transcript of his comments.
Van Gundy addressing the societal scourge of domestic violence so bluntly is admirable. It’s worth noting that Collison was arrested on a felony, but pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, and Derrick Rose has yet to be charged with a crime, as his case is in civil court. Rose’s trial began today, and jury selection continues tomorrow.
