Jeff Fisher Hasn't Heard From Tre Mason In Months
Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason has yet to report to training camp, and the team placed him on the Reserve/Did Not Report list this weekend. In addition to that, head coach Jeff Fisher says that nobody from the Rams has been able to get in touch with Mason for some time now.
From CBS Sports:
“I haven’t personally spoken with Tre since the season ended,” Fisher said. “I tried numerous times to reach him. Tre has made a decision not to communicate with us, not to talk. Not talking to his teammates. Right now we’re more concerned about Tre Mason’s well-being than we are his football career.”
Mason was charged with resisting arrest, marijuana possession, and reckless driving last March, and was tasered during his arrest. TMZ reports that he has had five encounters with police in the last four months. The most recent encounter, which occurred on July 23, reportedly featured Mason behaving strangely and making bizarre statements:
According to the report, filed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office ... cops say Tre’s mother had called because her son was “acting unusual and making irrational statements.”
When Tre saw the cops, he threatened to call the White House and have them all fired — and made bizarre statements about Al Qaeda ... so says the report.
The Rams drafted Mason in the third round of the 2014 draft. He rushed for 207 yards on 75 carries last season.
