J.J. Redick Wants No Part Of LeBron James
This was a fairly innocuous and forgettable play from last night's Clippers-Heat game, but it's a subtle reminder of just how dominant LeBron James has become as a basketball player.
Here we see J.J. Redick—who at 6-foot-4 and 190 lbs. isn't exactly the tiniest NBA player—streaking down the court on a fast break, realizing that LeBron James is bearing down on him, crapping his pants (metaphorically), and then pulling up for a jump shot.
This is what all of those chase-down blocks have given birth to, a shooting guard with a head of steam settling for a jumper instead of going at the rim and at least trying to draw a foul. This is how good LeBron is now. He can stop fast breaks through sheer force of intimidation.
