Ivory Coast Come Back To Beat Japan With Two Goals In Two Minutes
Japan held a 1-0 lead from the 16th minute, when Keisuke Honda hit a rocket past Copa Barry, to the 64th minute. In that 64th, minute two headers, off two Serge Aurier crosses, ripped the three points away from Japan and gave Ivory Coast a 2-1 comeback win.
First, and most spectacularly, Wilfried Bony headed in an amazing cross from Aurier. It wasn't quite Robin van Persie, but shit, how could it be? It was still a wonderful goal, perfectly crossed and snapped in past the goalkeeper.
Two minutes later, Gervinho headed in another cross from Aurier, from virtually the same spot as the first one. Just like that, Japan's lead, and the game, belonged to the Ivory Coast.
Didier Drogba checked in to match just two minutes before his team got the party started, if you're into that sort of shot-in-the-arm stuff.
