Davis and the Oakland Athletics agreed to a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday.
Financial terms were not disclosed by the A's. However, multiple media outlets reported the deal was worth $2.5 million with an additional $1 million in incentives.
Davis, who turns 31 on April 27, was released by the San Francisco Giants on Monday after defeating the team last month in salary arbitration. He was awarded a $6.9 million salary for 2024 in arbitration but will only receive approximately $1.1 million from the Giants since he was released more than 16 days before the start of the regular season.
Davis batted .248 with a career-best 18 home runs and 69 RBIs in 144 games last season. He played 116 games at third base and 15 contests at first base.
In seven major league seasons, Davis is a career .261 hitter with 68 home runs and 215 RBIs in 594 games for the Houston Astros (2017-18), New York Mets (2019-22) and Giants.
