If Hasheem Thabeet Sits Behind You In Coach, Don't Recline Your Seat [Update: Not Him]
Update, Aug. 29: Hasheem Thabeet's publicist has reached out to say that couldn't be Thabeet in the photos below, as he didn't fly to Philadelphia in the timeframe in question (and doesn't own Beats headphone). Sorry folks. But still: don't recline your seat if there's a really tall person behind you, even if they don't play pro basketball.
There's been a lot of recent talk about the proper etiquette of reclining your seat on an airplane. (The correct answer is: don't do it.) But definitely don't do it if the guy behind you is listed at 7-foot-3.
Yesterday we got this email from reader Michael, who, a couple of weeks ago, sat near who he thinks was then-Thunder center Hasheem Thabeet on a flight to Philadelphia. (OKC traded Thabeet yesterday to avoid the luxury tax, and Philly is expected to waive him.) Thabeet was in economy class, which isn't comfortable to begin with.
Hasheem Thabeet was sitting across the aisle from me. He was extremely polite, studied video and logged notes for approximately 50% of the flight. Now the same cannot be said for the D-Bag in front of him who declined his seat all the way back with no regard for the seven footer (he looked quite comfortable in pic two). Needless to say HT was a little cramped.
