High School Football Coach Accused Of Stealing, Pawning Student's Watch
Kevin Strasser, head coach for Oregon City High School, was arrested yesterday after being accused of stealing a student's wristwatch, then selling it to a pawnshop.
In his defense, it was a nice watch. A "jewel-encrusted Ice Time model with many features." And he would have gotten away with the May theft, had not the student's friend noticed it in a local pawnshop earlier this week. A call to the police, a check of the pawnshop's records, and it was off to jail. Strasser made bail, probably because he pawned a watch, remember?
Strasser is suspended indefinitely, and is charged with suspicion of first-degree theft and official misconduct.
Strasser came to Oregon City after nearly a decade in the CFL. Most recently, he was the Edmonton Eskimos' offensive coordinator in 2009 and 2010.
