Here Is The Most Entertaining Moment Of Alabama's Dismantling Of Notre Dame
This game had nothing. It was dead on arrival. Maybe there were some moments— Brent Musberger salivating all over A.J. McCarron's girlfriend or McCarron getting shoved by his own center come to mind. But there was not a single entertaining moment until Nick Saban grimaced through his Gatorade bath. His entire body just sighs goddammit. It was such a perfectly Saban thing to do, you had to chuckle at his concentration and ability to stay in character.
Alabama put 14 points up in each of the first two quarters while Notre Dame just sort of watched. Halfway through the third quarter, Alabama had scored 35 unanswered points. It was an ugly night for the Irish, who got steamrolled by Offensive MVP Eddie Lacy (140 yards, 1 touchdown) and T.J. Yeldon (108 yards, 1 touchdown).
Saban, on the other hand, has now won three of the last four BCS Championships and everyone is tripping over themselves to call his Alabama tenure a "dynasty." If there is any moment to release whatever joy resides within you, being the undisputed best at your chosen profession would be it. But instead of being excited or startled by the cold, wet stuff suddenly all over him, Nick Saban is experiencing a minor inconvenience.
Like the rest of us, though, he had probably been expecting it since the second quarter.
