Giants QB Daniel Jones not practicing Thursday
Miami Dolphins linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (43) sacks New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (8) during the second half of an NFL game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, October 8, 2023. credits: Jim Rassol / USA TODAY NETWORK New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones did not participate in practice Thursday due to a sore neck.
Giants coach Brian Daboll, however, did not rule out Jones for Sunday night's game at Buffalo.
Jones has missed the first two practices this week after exiting Sunday's 21-16 loss to the Miami Dolphins in the fourth quarter following a sack by Andrew Van Ginkel. The hit took Jones by surprise from his blind side, and his head cocked backward before he was driven to the turf.
Tyrod Taylor took over under center for the Giants (1-4) and would be the starter Sunday against the Bills (3-2) if Jones is unable to play.
Jones, 26, completed 14 of 20 passes for 119 yards and was sacked six times against Miami. He has completed 68.9 percent of his passes for 884 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions through five starts this season.
With Jones as the starter, the Giants are 22-35-1.
