Fox Sports: Curt Schilling Approached Us, But We Passed

When he isn’t sharing shitty Facebook memes and complaining about people scolding him for sharing shitty Facebook memes, former ESPN baseball analyst Curt Schilling is looking for a job. Fox Sports, the most obvious destination, doesn’t want him.

Last Friday, I asked Fox Sports if they were talking to Schilling about joining in some capacity, since a company currently stocking its kennel of hot-takers with diseased, three-legged dogs like Colin Cowherd, Jason Whitlock, and Skip Bayless seemed like a good fit. A spokesperson said that Schilling had reached out, but that the network declined:

We were approached by Curt’s camp this week and passed. We’re very happy with the group we have working baseball this season.

Fox Sports’ current lead MLB booth is Joe Buck and John Smoltz.

Schilling might not be going to Fox Sports, but he did suggest on his Facebook page that he’ll have a gig soon. When someone proposed that he should host a satellite radio talk show, Schilling hinted that he was already planning to do so:

The next day, Schilling replied to a person by saying he was “getting ready” to take a job “that’s likely to make the far left heads explode”:

I’m on the edge of my seat. Where else might the Red Sox great land? The Daily Caller? Infowars? Whatever the fuck Michelle Malkin’s up to right now? Breitbart is another possibility. I emailed editor-in-chief Alex Marlow and asked if the network was in talks with Schilling to contribute in any capacity. He didn’t respond.
