Former MVP Nneka Ogwumike returning to Storm

Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Nneka Ogwumike is returning to the Seattle Storm in 2025, her sister and ESPN analyst Chiney Ogwumike revealed Friday.
Nneka Ogwumike was the 2016 WNBA Most Valuable Player amid a decorated career with the Los Angeles Sparks. In free agency before the 2024 season, she left the Sparks for Seattle.
Ogwumike was an unrestricted free agent again this winter and opted for a second season with the Storm.
She was named to the All-WNBA second team in 2024 after averaging 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game in 37 games (all starts). The forward also set career highs for 3-pointers made (30) and attempted (74), yielding a shooting percentage of 40.5.
She also made the All-Star Game for the ninth time in her career.
Ogwumike has averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists for her career spanning 393 games (392 starts) with the Sparks (2012-23) and Storm.
