For Black History Month, Boston Police Pay Tribute To White Man Who Coached Black Guys
Image via [object Object] Boston’s reputation as a city oblivious to racial issues is undeserved, I tell you.
The Boston Police Department’s Twitter account, the same account responsible for this odd defense of Patriots darling Tom Brady after Ballghazi, gave a Black History Month shoutout yesterday to storied Celtics coach and executive Red Auerbach, a white guy who drafted, coached, and hired black guys.
While Auerbach did open doors for black men, this month is about recognizing, you know, actual black people who did great things. Whoever runs the Twitter account tried to mitigate the damage with an apology and proof that they are aware of Bill Russell.
One dollar to whoever shows the deleted tweet to Bill Russell.
