Florida State Strength Coach Found Asleep At Wheel, Arrested For DUI
Photo Credit: AP Photo/ [object Object] Florida State strength and conditioning coach Vic Viloria was arrested on DUI charges early Saturday morning.
Viloria was found asleep at the wheel of his truck at a traffic light on a highway ramp, per the. His blood alcohol level was measured at .124 and .125, and he was also charged with property damage, as his vehicle struck an electronic crosswalk sign when police first attempted to wake him.
He told police that he was driving from work, where he had three “big” alcoholic beverages in his campus office. He was arrested shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday and was released from Leon County Jail later that morning.
The school’s athletic department released a statement, saying, “We are aware of the reported incident and are in the process of gathering more information. The issue falls under the human resources policies for university employees, which restricts further comment at this time.” Head coach Jimbo Fisher reportedly declined to comment on the situation after Saturday’s practice.
Viloria has been with Florida State for six years.
