Fans Give Packers Player Ride To Green Bay After He Misses Connection In Minneapolis
Photo credit: Gregory Shamus/ [object Object] Packers cornerback Davon House was trying to get to OTAs on Monday night when his connecting flight from Minneapolis to Green Bay was cancelled. With no more flights leaving that night and a shortage of rental cars, House found himself in a tough spot:
Desperate, House asked his Twitter followers for help:
At which point a good samaritan emerged:
House took him up on his offer, and Chad and his brother, Mike, picked House up in Minneapolis and hit the road. According to ESPN, they drove House to his car, which was parked at the Green Bay airport, and then expected to head back home. But House insisted that they follow him to the stadium for a tour and some souvenirs, all at 3:30 a.m. From ESPN:
“It would’ve been cool just to get a picture with him there, but he was like, ‘Follow me to the stadium and I’ll sign some stuff for you,’” Chad Johnson said. “We told him he didn’t need to do that, and he insisted. He has OTAs at 7:30, and here he is at 3:30 in the morning doing this. So he brought us over there, we got to go in the locker room. He signed some shoes and some gloves and let us take pictures with the Super Bowl trophies.”
There are plenty of reasons to make fun of Packers fans, but they sure seem to be considerate.
