ESPN News And NBA TV Both Aired Shows Two Weeks Ago That Had Zero Nielsen Viewers
Kate Aurthur took a look around the TV world to find shows that earned Nielsen's dreaded 0.0 rating—that's the fancy Nielsen metric that means nobody watched—from a random week in late February and early March.
NBA Gametime, the NBA cable channel's flagship show, brought home a 0.0 on Tuesday, Feb. 26, for its 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. editions. ESPNEWS's Highlight Express delivered highlights at 2:30 a.m. at Feb. 25 to not a single person in the world (or, at least, not a single person who has a Nielsen box. It is possible that a few dozen folks with a Nielsen box did watch it, but let's round down the way they do at the ratings service). Fox Soccer's news show also scored a 0.0 in the middle of the night in early March but at least that channel had the decency to off itself, more or less.
As for your cable bill? Combined, NBA TV and ESPNEWS cost you roughly a combined 35 cents a month to provide programming that, on occasion, no one watches. The cable model works perfectly.
