Dwight Howard Hung Out With Stranded Rockets Fans
Historic flooding struck the Houston area last night, with many roads becoming impassable and downright dangerous. As the Rockets closed out their Game 4 win around 11 p.m. local time, Toyota Center officials urged fans to remain in the arena for their own safety.
Most left, but about 350 people stayed in the arena—some for as long as six hours. The scoreboard alternated between weather updates, local news, and Rockets promo videos (the same playlist that is presumably looping in hell).
“They’re showing the Weather Channel right now,” Dwight Howard said. “They need to put on a movie or something.”
The monotony was briefly broken up by the appearance of Dwight Howard, who heard from friends about the road conditions and decided to wait it out.
