Drexel Sets Division I Record With Incredible 34-Point Comeback Win
Via [object Object] Drexel fell behind 5-0 at the start of tonight’s game against Delaware, and for quite a while, it didn’t look like they’d be able to crawl out of that hole. With a few minutes remaining in the first half, they were down by 34, and by the break, they’d only managed to cut that to 27 points. But in the second half, they started breaking things open, and soon enough, they had a record-setting comeback on their hands.
With six minutes remaining, Drexel made it a 10-point game. With five minutes remaining, there was this sweet rush to save the ball from going out-of-bounds, followed by a three-pointer to cut the deficit to four:
Finally, with just under two minutes to go, Drexel took the lead. With the game tied and just two seconds remaining, Tramaine Isabell—who’d ultimately finish as Drexel’s leading scorer, with 29 points, all but seven of which came in the second half—was fouled while shooting a three. He made two of three, and that was all that the Dragons needed for an 85-83 win and a place in the DI history books.
