Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin Wants To Switch Nicknames

Buccaneers running back Doug Martin is commonly known as “Muscle Hamster,” but he really hates that nickname. We’ve covered this before. This week, Martin revived his plea to give him any other nickname. That’s not how it works.

Martin has wanted to be called “Dougernaut” since at least 2013. From an interview with WDAE in Tampa:

Stop calling me Muscle Hamster. I’m just telling everybody right now: Stop calling me Muscle Hamster. Dougernaut, Dougernator, Muscle & Hustle, any of those are fine. But Muscle Hamster has to stop. Doug is fine, also. The Muscle Hamster has to stop. Stop it.

“Muscle and Hustle”? Come on. No dice, Muscle Hamster.
