Donald Trump Issues Statement On "Grab Them By The Pussy" Video

After The Washington Post late Friday afternoon in which Donald Trump brags about his patented sexual assault-based flirting technique, and after Trump was disinvited from an appearance with Paul Ryan, and after numerous Republicans denounced Trump’s remarks (mostly without rescinding their endorsements), Donald Trump has released a late night video statement on his gross remarks.

In the video, he said:

I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone I am not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me, knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize.

Trump went on to say that he pledges “to be a better man tomorrow, and will never, never let you down.” This, right before declaring “Let’s be honest. We’re living in the real world. This is nothing more than a distraction from the important issues we are facing today.” Sexual assault, however, should probably be considered more than just a “distraction.”

Trump then decided, with a mere 15 seconds left, to use this opportunity to say but Bill Clinton did it too:

I’ve said some foolish things, but there’s a big difference between the words and actions of other people. Bill Clinton has actually abused women and Hillary has bullied, attacked, shamed, and intimidated his victims. We will discuss this more in the coming days.

The video itself comes about an hour and a half after it was initially said to be released. What exactly took so long and where Trump got that terrible backdrop remain to be seen.
