Mandatory Credit: Jason Parkhurst-USA TODAY Sports Dodgers right fielder Jason Heyward was headed for imaging on his sore left knee after exiting Los Angeles' Thursday game against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks.
Heyward said postgame that he was injured in the top of the first inning when he unsuccessfully tried to make a leaping catch at the wall on Joc Pederson's home run.
In the bottom of the first, Heyward grounded out with two on for the final out of the inning, and he was pulled after the second.
Teoscar Hernandez moved from left field to right field and Miguel Vargas entered the game in left field and batted in Heyward's spot.
The Diamondbacks went on to win 9-3.
Signed to a one-year, $9 million contract on Dec. 6, Heyward is hitting .203 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 42 games this season. The 34-year-old missed six weeks with a back injury after playing in four games in March.
