Did An ESPN Anchor Need To Apologize For An Astros "Trailer Park Day" Joke?
Car seats are used to safely secure children inside of automobiles. They are not baseball gloves and should not be used for such a purpose. When SportsCenter showed the highlight of a Houston Astros fan attempting to utilize such a device for exactly that, an exasperated Bram Weinstein asked, "Is it Trailer Park Day?"
That's what passes for edgy at ESPN these days. It seems that joke was across the line for the Worldwide Leader, as Weinstein was forced to apologize a half hour later for his "derogatory remarks." But did he need to apologize? Watch the clip above, and tell us in the comments if you think Weinstein was out of line. Meanwhile, we're still trying to figure out why the fan brought a car seat into the stadium to begin with; we're sure José Altuve has his own custom model. [ESPN]
