Derrick White drops 30 points, Celtics clobber Wizards

Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-Imagn Images Derrick White had 30 points, nine assists and seven rebounds as the visiting Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to three games by beating the Washington Wizards 146-101 Thursday night.
Jordan Walsh made each of his eight field goal attempts and added a career-high 22 points for the Celtics, who outscored the Wizards 80-42 in the second half.
Boston shot 55% from the floor (54 of 99) and 43% from 3-point territory (20 of 47). The Celtics scored at least 32 points in all four quarters.
CJ McCollum led Washington with 22 points, and Khris Middleton finished with 16. The Wizards were seeking their third straight victory at home.
The Celtics held a 32-26 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 48-34 when a Walsh dunk ended an 8-0 run with 8:21 left in the second quarter.
Boston had its largest lead of the first half at 54-37 following a Walsh 3-pointer with 5:52 remaining, but Washington scored the next 12 points to make it a 54-49 game. The Celtics were up 66-59 at halftime.
The Celtics pulled away in the third and led 107-83 after a White 3-pointer capped a 9-0 run with 1:19 left in the quarter.
Boston had a 109-86 lead with 12 minutes to play, then scored the first 10 points in the fourth quarter.
Washington forward Alex Sarr missed his third straight game with adductor soreness. Sarr leads the team in points (19.1 per game) and rebounds (8.6). The Wizards were also missing guard/forward Bilal Coulibaly, who sustained an oblique strain during the third quarter of Tuesday's loss to Philadelphia.
The Celtics played without Jaylen Brown, who missed the game with an illness. Brown is averaging a career-high 29.0 points, along with 6.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
