Deadspin's Memorial Day Weekend Barbecue Recipe Swap
I know we've got a few foodies in our ranks here and this being a big barbecue party weekend I figured today would be a good day to do a good old fashioned recipe swap. "Sean, is that a thing?" Well, I don't know, but I'm going to share my favorite recipe (full list of ingredients below, for your convenience) and I encourage you all to do the same.
First things first. You're going to want to get yourself a sharp utensil. I recommend a knife, but I suppose a fork could do if you're in a bind. You'll need some bread. I prefer the kind that is pre-shaped into the form of hot dogs or hamburgers, but again, any old bread will do if you're up against it.
Ok, here's the important part. A heat source. I like charcoal grilling, but sometimes you just don't have the time. You can use a gas grill or a microwave. Microwave is nice because there's no preheating time. That's what's so great about this recipe. It's flexible and delicious.
Now if you're all pre-heated (or not, nukers!) go ahead and take that sharp knife and pierce the hot dog package I didn't tell you you had until just now. I'm a Sabrett man myself, but this can work with even Oscar Meyer. Don't get rid of that knife yet, though. You'll need it to separate the frozen hamburger patties.
Ok, so you've got your food out of the package. You'll need a plate. I like paper because it makes for an easy clean up. But go green and use some fine china if you like.
Now all that's left is to cook it until it's not raw or frozen anymore. Bon appétit.
Ingredients 1 Package hot dogs (Sabrett) 1 Package hamburgers (Sabrett also makes hamburgers) Bread (Wonder Bread makes hot dog and hamburger rolls) Cheese (dealer's choice) 1 Sharp utensil 1 Heat source 1 Plate
