Colts-Steelers Was Pure, Uncut, High-Grade Offense
The Patriots produced a show for the 1 p.m. slate by hanging 51 points on the Bears, who I would imagine are reading the papers this morning and realizing they had a game yesterday. The Steelers decided to match that total for the 4 p.m. round, the main difference being that a few of the Colts decided to show up, too.
Ben Roethlisberger had a better day than Tom Brady, too. The Steelers' quarterback had the best game of his career, throwing for 522 yards and six touchdowns. Roethlisberger's yardage total tied for fourth-best in league history:
Four receivers had 100-yard games in the 51-34 result: The Colts' T.Y. Hilton (155) and Donte Moncrief (113), and the Steelers' Antonio Brown (133) and Heath Miller (112). There were six touchdowns in the second quarter, including a Steelers touchdown and pick-six in the same minute. If you liked points, you liked this game.
Though Indianapolis fell behind after halftime, Andrew Luck still had a 400-yard game. The Colts' offense did its part to help make history:
The other side of the Colts also did their part, in a bad way:
Indy's defense might want to throw out this game's tape.
