Colin Kaepernick And Two Other NFLers Won't Be Charged In April Incident
Prosecutors announced today that 49ers players Colin Kaepernick and Quinton Patton, and Seahawks player Ricardo Lockette would not be charged in connection with an April incident in Miami involving a woman.
In a memo, the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office said that tests on the woman showed that she had not been sexually assaulted, and overall, there was insufficient evidence.
According to Kaepernick and Lockette's attorney, Kaepernick had known the woman for at least a year. They had had sex, and the woman later told Kaepernick she was pregnant before he stopped talking to her and changed his number. She took a bus to Miami after making plans with Kaepernick, which is how she ended up at the hotel.
The memo described the woman as incoherent when police arrived. From ESPN:
"When she heard the officers' voices, the complainant started screaming incoherently about Jesus and devils," Adams wrote.
A hotel security officer told police that when he arrived at the room, the woman began praying, "asking God to forgive her of her sins" and began screaming in words the security officer couldn't understand, according to the memo. She banged her head against the walls and started kicking uncontrollably.
