Chart: The Height And Weight Of Every NFL Player, By Position
Over on Reddit, user Craig Booth scraped the NFL's team roster websites for height and weight information and compiled it into the excellent graphic above.
As this visualization makes clear, football, maybe more than any other sport, slots players into very specific roles that allow for a great range of body types within a team. You might be bigger (or at least taller) than more receivers, running backs, cornerbacks, and safeties than you'd expect, but you're almost certainly dwarfed by the behemoths that make up modern offensive and defensive lines.
Some fun outliers to pick out: That 6' 8'', 340-pound DE in the top right is Clifton Geathers— here he is wrecking some people in college. The enormous QB is not Big Ben but rather Brock Osweiler, Peyton Manning's backup. Trindon Holliday is the tiny WR in the bottom left; you may remember him as the return specialist who went 16-0 last year. The "worst BMI" award goes to Colt's DT Josh Champan; "just" six feet tall, he weighs 341 pounds.
