Cardinals GM Steve Keim Suspended For Five Weeks, Fined $200,000 After Pleading Guilty To Extreme DUI

Keim pled guilty earlier Tuesday to extreme DUI, the same charge at the center of Michael Floyd’s release by the Cardinals back in 2016. As part of Keim’s punishment he will be barred from team facilities and banished from the organization, with his return contingent on him meeting several conditions:
He cannot return to the Cardinals until he completes counseling and evaluation, along with a DUI education course. Keim will also participate in DUI awareness and education programs within the community.
Keim’s $200,000 fine will reportedly be donated by the Cardinals to the Arizona chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Keim’s duties “will be handled by multiple members of the personnel department” during his absence. The NFL reportedly declined to discipline Keim beyond the team’s punishment.
