Photo Credit: Harry How / [object Object] After being trounced by the Minnesota Lynx in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals, the Los Angeles Sparks responded in kind for Friday’s Game 3 with a 92-75 win.
The Sparks, now up 2-1 in the series, were in control right from the start, taking a 32-17 lead by the end of the first quarter. Scoring was led by forward Candace Parker, who contributed 24 points along with nine rebounds and two assists. Teammate and reigning MVP Nneka Ogwumike bounced back from a quiet Game 2 with 21 points of her own.
Though defending champions Minnesota threatened a comeback in the second quarter and drew within eight points by halftime, Los Angeles secured their lead in the third and never looked back. Lynx forward Maya Moore, the hero of Game 2, had her weakest game of the postseason with just nine points.
The Sparks can clinch the best-of-five series—and win their first title since 2002—in Game 4 on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
