Burger King Sued Over Fed-Up Stabbin'-Ass Manager
Cold onion rings. A peeved customer. A murderous knife-wielding manager. I swear, if you've been to one Burger King, you've been to 'em all. Except you probably haven't been to any of them, since nobody goes to Burger King. Nobody, that is, but Robert Deyapp, who got beat up by a store employee for it.
Back in 2013, Deyapp complained about his undercooked onion rings to the manager of the Bloomfield, N.M., Burger King; the manager, for his part, attacked Deyapp with a switchblade and a stun gun. Now Deyapp has decided to complain about that, too, and is suing the burger chain. Ugh. Entitled customer, much?
According to the lawsuit (as reported by New Mexico's KRQE-TV), when Deyapp asked to have his onion rings reheated, the manager, Francisco Berrera, remarked to another employee in Spanish that "… he doesn't even know what I'm going to return it and do whatever I want to it and he'll still eat it." Deyapp, who'd heard and understood the exchange, decided (reasonably!) to ask for a refund instead of taking the food back; in dutiful observance of longstanding corporate policy (probably) stating that customers who request refunds must first best the store manager in mortal combat, Berrera took up the grimmest of work instruments and attacked pretty much forthwith.
He later pled no contest to a charge of aggravated battery. The status of the onion rings is unknown at this time.
Don't stab and electrocute people. Or eat at Burger King.
