Bruins Knot Stanley Cup Finals At One With Overtime Goal
Boston overcame an officiating blunder to win Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals when Daniel Paille knocked home a goal at 13:48 of the overtime period.
The Bruins were deprived a power play after officials missed what should have been a penalty on Chicago's Nick Leddy for clearing the puck over glass earlier in the period. That's a stupid rule, but if they're going to keep it then it needs to be enforced; replay showed it to have gone over without deflection.
Of course, say the Bruins win it on that power play. Now we're spending days arguing over the puck-over-glass penalty, and who wants that? Nobody. We'll take how this one turned out, and hope we can get an exemption to extend the series to 29 games. [NBCSN]
