Brandon Marshall Found Not Liable In Civil Trial
Image [object Object] Brandon Marshall has been found not liable in a federal civil trial resulting from the 2012 fight at a Manhattan club, during which a woman said the New York Jets wide receiver punched her in the face. Police investigated the fight in 2012 and declined to bring any criminal charges.
NJ.com’s Dom Cosentino reported that the jury found Marshall not liable on all counts. According to one juror who spoke to Cosentino, a deciding factor was the grainy quality of video showing what happened. The video showed one of Marshall’s arms going forward; that’s when Christin Myles said he punched her, while Marshall said he was trying to keep his balance while getting away from the scrum.
The trial didn’t generate much media coverage beyond news articles and beat reports, although it generated its fair share of negative details about Marshall and the people around him at the time. Marshall wasn’t in the courtroom when the verdict was read, but soon afterward he weighed in via Twitter.
