Brandon Browner, Who Is Bad, Makes Fun Of Shannon Sharpe's Teeth
Brandon Browner has had a horrendous season just in terms of defensive coverage. Add in the absurd amount of penalties, and the Saints cornerback is on the verge of making history.
Jeff Duncan of the looked up the numbers on NFL penalties in a season since 1999. In the top spot is Texans offensive tackle Chester Pitts, who was penalized 22 times in 2003. This season, Browner currently has 21 in 12 games. He received three penalties in Sunday’s game against the Panthers to surpass the 19 flags in his 2011 season with the Seahawks. Assuming New Orleans keeps Browner for the rest of the season, he has four games left to break Pitts’s record (or not, ideally).
It’s not like Browner’s actual defense justifies his tendencies to be a flag magnet. Shannon Sharpe noted it yesterday:
Today, Browner shot back, but Sharpe ended the conversation there:
Watch the four remaining Saints games to see if Browner can claim the top spot. If he gets his 23rd penalty, the officials should let him keep the flag.
