Blizzard Will Delay Aaron Hernandez's Murder Trial
The powerful blizzard set to cover much of the Northeast is projected to bring up to 30 inches of snow to eastern Massachusetts, where nearly everything is expected to shut down tomorrow. That includes courts, which means opening statements in Aaron Hernandez's murder trial, scheduled to begin tomorrow, will be pushed back indefinitely.
The start of Hernandez's trial, for the June 2013 shooting of Odin Lloyd, had already been pushed back because of a longer-than-expected jury selection process. (It's hard to find people in Bristol County, Mass., who aren't Patriots fans. Who knew!) It's not clear when opening statements will be given—Massachusetts' governor has said he expects roads to be undriveable until Thursday in some places—but it won't really get going until after the Super Bowl. Which means the round-the-clock Patriots coverage doesn't have to end.
