Australian Rules Football Player Uses His Opponent To Get Major Air
Besides the dope referee signals, the coolest thing in Australian rules football is the mark. A mark is when a player cleanly catches a ball that has traveled at least 15 meters (49 feet) in the air. There’s even an annual Mark of the Year contest, awarded to the best one of the season.
Today at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Collingwood’s Jeremy Howe had a mark that has to be in the running for that award.
Howe jumped in the air, bounced off an opposing player’s shoulders and rose up even higher to catch the ball. Apparently Howe is known for this sort of thing. He’s averaging over seven marks a game this season.
