Arizona State roars back from slow start to clobber San Diego

Joson Sanon led Arizona State's comeback from a 12-point deficit in the first half with 19 points and five rebounds in a 90-53 victory Tuesday night over San Diego at Tempe, Ariz.
Sanon's 13 points in the first half helped Arizona State rally after trailing 17-5 just over seven minutes into the game.
The Sun Devils (8-1) ran their winning streak to six games, while San Diego (3-5) lost in playing its first road game of the season.
Sanon went 6 of 11 from the field, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range. He also had five rebounds.
Basheer Jihad also contributed 19 points and five rebounds. He went 8 of 11 from the free-throw line.
Jayden Quaintance finished with 10 points, making all five of his shots from the field, and had nine rebounds and five blocks. BJ Freeman also had 14 points and five rebounds.
Kjay Bradley Jr. led San Diego with 15 points and six rebounds. Santiago Trouet finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
San Diego built its 17-5 lead after going on a 14-2 run, which included two free throws by Tony Duckett following a technical foul given to Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley.
San Diego took its 12-point lead with 12:45 remaining in the half. Duckett had all eight of his points by that point.
The Sun Devils outscored San Diego 35-16 the rest of the half to lead 40-33.
Arizona State started 1 of 10 from the field as it fell behind, but went 11 of 22 afterward in the half. Sanon hit 4-of-8 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 on 3-pointers.
The Sun Devils pulled away to a 72-44 lead with 9:19 remaining after going on a 16-0 run. Sanon hit two 3-pointers, and Jihad and Adam Miller made one each.
Arizona State shot 64 percent from the field in the second half while outscoring San Diego 50-20.
The Sun Devils made 63.6 percent (7 of 11) of their 3-pointers in the second half and were 52.2 percent (12 of 23) overall.
