Alex Gibney And Betsy Andreu Are Here To Talk About The Armstrong Lie
Documentarian Alex Gibney, director of the Oscar-winning Taxi to the Dark Side, has spent his career making films about corruption and the abuse of power. The project that eventually became The Armstrong Lie wasn't necessarily meant to be one of them. What had initially been a story about Armstrong's 2009 comeback, though, became one about hubris, about his attempts to destroy his enemies, and his eventual confession of the obvious.
Among his enemies was Betsy Andreu, who insists that in 1996 she saw Armstrong confess to his doctors that he had used performance enhancers. (He denies it.) Want to know if Armstrong is telling the full truth now? About what made him finally come clean? About what it feels like to be in the crosshairs of one of the most powerful and vindictive men in sports? She and Gibney are ready to take your questions in the comments below.
Update, 1:04 p.m.: Gibney and Andreu are off. Thanks for dropping by; there are a variety of interesting responses to check out down below.
